We are delighted to report that Rhys Gravelle has just become Welsh under 18 Champion.  This is a fantastic achievement and we congratulate him on this success. 

Rhys and Hefin Price, who finished 14th took part in the Welsh Road Race Championship at Crickhowel.  This is a 80 mile course around the Brecon Beacons with a 47 rider field.  Both Rhys and Hefin represented CMC and Rhys has taken the first award for the Club.

We have now had authority from Welsh Cycling to produce a CMC Club Welsh Jersey and Kalas (CMC kit manuafactuers) have been commissioned to produce.  Rhys will be wearing the new kit in the very near future.  Full report available on Welsh Cycling by following link:  www.britishcycling.org.uk/web/site/wcu/eve/20090403-welsh-rr-champs09.asp   

CMC is a new club founded this year, presently we have 20 members and our focus is on enjoyment.  Objectives of the club are to promote safe and responsible cycling, develop youth cycling, support our race team members at all levels from full race to time trials to other event entrants including mountain bike, track and sportives.

We have established a committe who meet to progress club issues and design club events.

All Club members are welcome to meet:

Every Monday evening 6pm, Carmarthen Eastern By-pass; time trial training (turn up and ride)

Every Wednesday evening 6pm, School House Golden Grove Llanarthne: leisure ride, non competetive.

Rides to be orgainsed this month (May):

Black Mountain: 50 miles of Merlin Ride.  Organiser Peter at County 01269 845656.

Tour of Brechfa (Road) Llanllwni Mountain Sunday 31 May.  Meet at Abergwili bench near Mueseum 10.30am.  All welcome.  Organiser Phil 07970 146720. 

Rides for June:

Sunday 14 June: Black Mountain, Tafarn Y Garreg, Gwynfe:  This is a 100 mile ride from Carmarthen, a fantastic ride.  We will be leaving Abergwili bench 10.30 am and passing Golden Grove at 11.15am.  Ride not to be missed.  Organiser Phil 07970 146720.

Sunday 28 June:  New Ride : we are doing the 70 Merlin Ride 10.30 from Botanic Gardens, please contact Phil if you wish to attend.  Llandovery, Abergwesin, Llyn Briane postponed.  Organiser Phil 07970 146720. 

July:

Some CMC members will be spending the second week of July out at our Pyrenne holiday apartments.  See photo of premises on holiday page.  We will be there for the Tour and will be taking in 6 or 7 famous cols, including: Tourmalet, Col de Aspen, Luz Ardiden, Pont Espane, Hautacam, Galiber and more.  If you fancy a holiday at this fantastic cycle destination then give Phil a ring.
